In the age of social distancing, private travel is more and more becoming an alternative for passengers looking to travel whether it’s for leisure, business or essential travel. Yet, not much is known about the convenient alternatives that won’t break the bank. Private does not always equal exclusive or expensive. There are companies in transportation that have learned to leverage private travel in order to be more price competitive and yet still be able to provide a high end service.
One such service, which is provided by Sedanz, is our Long Distance Private Ground. With Private Ground, we have taken the private and comfort of ground chauffeured travel and estimated what a door to door service would be from NYC to cities and towns within a 300 mile radius. There are modes of transport such as Amtrak and Commercial plane shuttles that allow us to travel to and from cities such as Washington D.C., Boston the Hamptons and Philadelphia. But these forms require multiple modes of transportation just to get from A to B. From the door, getting in a cab, arriving at an airport, checking in, waiting at gate, boarding, take off, flight, wheels down, deplaning, waiting for luggage, waiting on cab line, getting to your final destination…doesn’t sound efficient does it?

So from an efficiency perspective, it’s pretty clear which form of travel makes more sense. This applies of course up to certain distance, however, if passengers prefer to travel by ground because of the privacy and comfort it involves, we also offer relay rides. With Relay Rides, a participating affiliate with a fresh car and driver will take over a ride at a predesignated rendezvous point, and continue the trip. An example of this service would involve a car starting in NYC, then relaying the ride to an affiliate in Virginia to proceed the rest of the way to say Atlanta, Georgia with the same passenger continuing the door to door service.
On the pricing side, plane tickets for shuttles can go from $100-$500 depending on date and time. The same applies for train tickets. These modes usually have a dynamic pricing structure based on time of year or even if the flight/train ticket is requested with little notice. Not only that but the cab/limo to and from the airport and train station can vary between $30-$150 depending on which airport/train terminal you’re going to. For a private chauffeured ground transport, rates can start at $250-$650 all inclusive door to door, pretty reasonable for a private form of travel.
Now all the hassle in between each of these rides such as hailing cabs, and waiting in lines, the one unspoken reality that is the most important is “Your Time”. In private ground, once you enter into one of our vehicles, you just sit back and we handle the logistics. Take conference calls, zoom calls, work on your laptop (with complimentary wifi), or simply just rest and relax. Or better yet, get PAID while traveling if you’re a lawyer or consultant by using the commuting time as billable hours, how do you like that! You simply end up losing so much time in commercial travel simply because you have to take separate modes of transportation just to get to the same place as if you take one mode door to door.
